Abandoned bag creates flutter at Coimbatore airport

An abandoned bag created flutter at the Coimbatore International Airport on Saturday.

The bag was found near the parking lot around 2 a.m., shortly after Air Arabia flight from Sharjah landed at the airport. Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel, who rushed to the spot, said they received a call from the airport authorities about the mysterious bag.

The personnel also informed the police, following which the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad rushed to the spot and on scanning found the bag to be empty.

Worn out bag

After a preliminary inquiry the police said that it was a worn out bag abandoned by a passenger.
