The alumni of the 1965-67 batch of the Southern Forest Rangers College celebrated the Golden Jubilee of their passing out on October 31 at the Tamil Nadu Forest Academy. The college was under the administrative control of the President Forest Research Institute and College, Dehradun at the time. The Academy is a national level training institute for forest rangers.

Recruited through the Public Service Commissions of various States and inducted on November 1 1965, the batch of 139 trainees passed out on October 31 1967.

They lauded the institute for teaching them the values of self confidence, discipline and punctuality. “True to the motto of 'Mens sana in corpore sano', the rigorous training enabled us to develop a strong mind in a strong body,” said C.S. Rangaswamy IFS, a retired official from the Tamil Nadu Forest Department.

The Tamil Nadu Forest Academy celebrated its centenary year in 2012.
