Rose-scented ‘My Stamp’ sheets for sale

The Department of Posts conducted a special sale of its fragrant stamps (My Stamp sheets with the fragrance of rose ) at a couple of locations in the city on Tuesday.

According to an official of the department, 10,000 sheets with rose fragrance were printed by the department as a special edition. Of these, 1,000 sheets were given for sale in Coimbatore region. These would be sold in Coimbatore, Yercaud and Udhagamandalam.

On Monday, when the sheets were launched here, there were orders for 100 sheets. Stalls were set up at Brookefields Mall, Fun Mall, and at a private college. Those who want to give their photos to be printed as stamp under My Stamp, can do so on the fragrance sheets that cost ₹ 500 per sheet and it will have 12 stamps. The cost of a normal sheet is 300.

Design a Stamp contest

Keerthivasan, a class IX student of Bharathi Matriculation Higher Secondary School, had won the first prize under Design a Stamp contest held in December. The theme for the contest was India Nature. The stamp designed by the student was released on Republic Day. He was felicitated at a function here on Monday and the department presented him ₹10,000 as cash award.
