A four-year-old girl and a 29-year-old mentally disturbed were allegedly raped in the city. Police have started probing the two incidents. According to the police, the four-year-old girl was a resident of Cheran Maa Nagar. It is learnt that she was playing near her house about three days ago when the man suspected to be aged around 40 years took her to a lonely place and raped her. It is learnt that the accused was the relative of a family (tenants) living near the victim’s house, who came to the relative’s house recently.
In the other incident, the mentally disturbed victim who lost her father a few years ago lived with her mother at P.K. Pudur near Kuniyamuthur.
The police said the woman’s mother worked as a daily wager. The woman was alone at home when the incident happened.
