30 sovereigns of jewellery stolen

Around 30 sovereigns of gold jewellery were stolen from the house of R. Senthil Kumar (23) of Thiru Senthil Nagar in Kuniyamuthur on Thursday.

The police said the incident occurred when Senthil Kumar had gone to Guduvancheri near Chennai along with his wife Meena.

Killed in accident

Two-year-old Mahalakshmi of Thaneerpandhal Street in Karumathampatty died in a road accident on Wednesday.

According to Karumathampatty Police, the girl’s relative, who took her out for a ride on a motorbike, lost control and rammed behind a lorry.
