The police have arrested 23 persons from the district on the charge of gambling during raids conducted on Wednesday evening and on Thursday. A sum of Rs. 17,000 was seized from them.
Of the accused, 11 were arrested in the city, six from Palladam and the remaining from Gudimangalam.
Stolen
About 1.6 tonnes of poultry feed was reportedly stolen from a farm houae at Mulanur in the district on Wednesday night. The police sources said the accused broke open the front door lock of the farm house to take away the feed kept in 20 bags.
