The Coimbatore District Small Industries’ Association (CODISSIA) will organise the 14 edition of International Industrial Trade Fair (INTEC) here from June 6 to 10.

The event chairman D. Gandhikumar told presspersons here on Monday that the exhibition would have 508 stalls and 474 participants. This would include several overseas participants from Japan, Korea, Taiwan, and the U.S. The five-day exhibition was expected to generate business enquiries worth Rs. 750 crore as against about Rs. 560 crore last year. Representatives of 14 countries would take part in the fair.

Online registration by visitors from other countries was also encouraging, he said.

The first edition of INTEC was organised in 1988. After 25 years, the event has registered the highest exhibition space occupation this year. Nearly 3,000 kw power supply would be available at the venue for demonstration of machinery.

Since the industries here faced power and labour shortage, the focus was on energy efficiency and automation. The displays would include dies and moulds, pneumatic systems, automobile components, CNC machinery, accessories, seals, packing material, tools, motors, and fabrication machinery and equipment.

A seminar on “Innovation – an Implant for Future Manufacturing” would be held on June 7 as part of INTEC.

A panel discussion on “Second Generation Entrepreneurship – Is a Boon or a Bane” would also be organised.

The Hindu is the media partner for the exhibition. The fair will be open for business visitors from 9.30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and for others from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. The entry fee for business visitors is Rs. 250 each and for others it is Rs. 100 each.

Association president R. Ramachandran said that Madhav Lal, Union MSME Secretary, would be the chief guest for the inaugural.
