1,318 cases settled in Lok Adalat

As many as 1,318 cases were settled in the Lok Adalats conducted in Coimbatore and The Nilgiris on Saturday. Settlements to the tune of Rs. 3.24 crore were made in the Adalat in Coimbatore - in which 185 cases were settled on getting a mutual consent from both sides.

Principal District Judge R. Pongiappan and Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority V. John Mino presided over the Adalat. In The Nilgiris 1,133 cases were settled and settlements were made to the tune of Rs. 1,00,22,581. The Adalat was conducted in the Udhagamandalam District court and Taluk courts in Gudalur, Kotagiri, Coonoor and Pandalur.
