1 dead, 2 hurt in accident on North Coimbatore flyover

Vehicles collide with each other and hit side walls of structure

One person was killed and two injured in an accident when their motorcycle fell from the North Coimbatore flyover on Saturday night, resulting in a 40-feet-fall from the structure.

Two motorcycles According to the police, Suresh Kumar (27) of Kothagiri, who working at a private hotel here in Ramnagar, Tamilchelvan, (26) an IT professional, and Muralikrishna Prasad, (36) were proceeding to Gandhipuram on two motorcycles.

Muralikrishna Prasad lost control of the vehicle while driving on the flyover and collided with the other bike on which Suresh Kumar and Tamilchelvan were riding. Both the vehicles hit the side walls resulting in Tamilchelvan, who was the pillion rider, falling over the side wall.

Hospitalised

Tamilchelvan died on the spot. Muralikrishna Prasad has been admitted to a private hospital. Suresh Kumar suffered only minor injuries.

The Traffic Investigation Wing (Central) has registered a case and are investigating.
