The sensational B.V. Girish murder case in which his fiancée Shubha is an accused on Wednesday took a new turn when the Division Bench hearing the case sought to know from the parties whether they wanted to continue arguments before the same Bench or not.

The Girish case is being heard before the Division Bench of Justice K. Sreedhar Rao and Justice B.V. Pinto. All the accused in the Girish murder-Shubha, her former boy friend Arun Verma, his cousin Dinah alias Dinakar and Venkatesh, a tempo driver, have filed appeals against their conviction by a Bangalore court before the High Court.

While senior advocate C.V. Nagesh is appearing for Shubha, the State has appointed Venkat Rao who argued the case in the lower court to conduct the case in the High Court.

‘Innocent'

All the accused have completed their arguments and all of them have urged the High Court to set aside the lower court order as they were innocent of the murder they are charged with. The State contended that all the accused were involved in the murder and it had sought for enhancement of punishment. When the matter came up on Wednesday, the prosecutor brought to the notice of the court that some persons were distributing pamphlets relating to the case.

The pamphlets sought to know why the bail plea of Shubha and the main case is being clubbed together.

Memo

The senior judge on the Bench, Justice K. Sredhar Rao, asked the parties to file a memo by Thursday stating whether they wanted the case to be heard by them or they wanted the case to be posted before another Bench.
