Suspicion leads to wife's murder
A man allegedly murdered his wife suspecting her fidelity, at his residence at Kaverinagar here on Tuesday night.
The Mahadevapura police said the victim's mother, Ratnamma, accused her son-in-law Muniraju of strangling her daughter Shashikala.
The suspect was arrested on Wednesday.
Moneylender held
A private financier, who was allegedly charging extortionate rates of interest from debtors - mostly daily wage labourers - was arrested here on Tuesday.
The Central Crime Branch police said they had received several complaints of harassment against the accused, Rakesh Ramamurthy of S.K. Lane of Chikkamavalli.
The police raided his firm, Rohini Enterprises on Avenue Road, and arrested him.
Girl ends life
Upset over being scolded by her mother, a 17-year-old girl allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself at her residence in Dollars Colony on Wednesday.
The police identified her as Sudha, daughter of Pushpa, a domestic help, and Mahim.
