Chidambaram should resign: Swamy

April 06, 2010 11:21 pm | Updated November 12, 2016 04:45 am IST - CHENNAI:

Janata Party president Subramanian Swamy has demanded the resignation of Union Home Minister P. Chidambaram following the massacre of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel in Chhattisgarh on Tuesday.

In a press release, Dr. Swamy said it was not enough for the Minister to say sorry for the massacre; he must atone for it.

“Mr. Chidambaram should atone by resigning forthwith from the Cabinet for this gross lapse, which enabled a terrorist organisation to kill so many of our jawans. If he does not do so, the Prime Minister must sack him,” Dr. Swamy said.
