A Moscow-bound chartered flight, with 250 passengers on board, suffered a bird hit while taxiing for take-off from the airport here today, airport officials said.
The incident occurred at 7.30 a.m. when the Aerofloat-operated flight was taxiing on the runway for take-off, airport director D Paul Manickam said.
The sudden brakes applied by the pilot burst the aircraft tyres, he said.
The flight has been grounded and will be inspected later in the day, the officials added.
