AgustaWestland deal: CBI to examine Andhra Pradesh Governor Narasimhan

The CBI will record the “witness” statement of the former Intelligence Bureau Director and incumbent Andhra Pradesh Governor, E.S.L. Narasimhan, in the VVIP chopper deal case.

Mr. Narasimhan, according to a senior CBI official, had also attended the March 2005 meeting in which reduction in the flight capability of the helicopters was approved, allowing AgustaWestland to bid for the Rs. 3,700-crore contract .

The agency has already recorded the statements of then NSA M.K. Narayanan, and former SPG chief, B.V. Wanchoo.
