Refusing to answer any questions on politics, senior BJP leader LK Advani hailed the Indian parliamentary system and said he was proud to be a part of it.

Mr. Advani cast his vote in Gandhinagar constituency, from where he is the party’s candidate.

“When we accepted parliamentary democracy, many people expressed concerns over it. But in every election, people have voted with great enthusiasm. This is a matter of great pride. The Indian people, Election Commission and political parties are behind this success. I compliment the EC for ensuring that voters’ names are in the electoral rolls and for making the process of voting comfortable.”

Steering clear of questions, Mr. Advani said, “I am not going to comment on any political issue.”
