Peppy’s the way to go

Music director D. Imman comes up with perky numbers for “Odippolama”

LAUNCH Audio release of “Odippolama”

The audio release of Sri Vaaru Films’ “Odippolama” was held at Sathyam Cinemas with pomp and show, as the place was teeming with who’s who of the Tamil film industry.

The first CD was released by Rama. Narayanan, president, Tamil Film Producers Council, and received by director K. Bhagyaraj.

Produced by V. Bharani, the film is directed by Kanmani, who has also handled the story, screenplay and dialogues. His earlier films include “Aha Ethanai Azhagu” in Tamil and three in Telugu. The director claims the story has an interesting twist — two strangers run away from home and face a lot of hassles.

Parimal, the grandson of popular film producer K.R. Balan, will play the lead. The cast includes Sandhya, Kotta Srinivasa Rao, Ragasya, Mahadevan, Suman Shetty, Sudha, and ‘Sankarabaranam’ Rajalakhsmi.

The camera is handled by Anji and the music by D. Imman. The film, a bilingual (in Tamil and Telugu) will be released this month.

The film has six peppy songs. Music director Imman has lent his voice for two numbers. ‘Vaalu Paiyane’ is a good one, sung by Anitha and Ranjith.

Arati Kanklikar’s rendition of ‘Puchandi Puchandi’ is impressive. ‘Odipolama-Junkyard’ is ‘Puchandi…’ with a twist.

Imman’s ‘Ragala Kaara Maaman’ is worth a mention. Krish does a neat job in ‘Aruvi Pola’. Rita and Imman lend their voices to ‘Ading Ading’, a fast number.
