Eyeing the glam world

Starry eyed Ipsita

Her quest with fame and glamour started in 2008, when she was crowned Sunsilk Miss South India. At that time she was barely a 16-year-old novice in the glam world. A year later she is all ready to take up the arduous task of fighting it out at the fa med Femina Miss India contest. Meet the cutie from Vizag, Ipsita.

Confident of taking on the best at the preliminary rounds of the Femina contest to be held at Hyderabad on November 12 and 13, she says, “My ultimate dream is to the wear the Miss Universe or Miss World crown. Ever since Aishwarya Rai and Sushmita Sen won the Miss World and Miss Universe contest, it has been my only goal.”

Standing at 5’10”, this starry-eyed feels that her height is her ‘X’ factor. She is also an accomplished Odissi dancer and can groove with the best in any kind of western dance forms.

“I won a gold medal in a state-level western dance competition a couple of years ago. I can also sing, and once I achieve my dream, I intend to become a rockstar,” says Ipsita.

Apart from the height that she inherited, she says that her biggest asset is her smile and can gel well in any kind of crowd. She also has flair for stand-up comedy shows and can anchor a show.

Talking of her inspirational and motivational figures, she says “My mother Pooja Pati who herself was a Gladrags Mrs India contestant has been a strong force behind me. My father Byomakesh Pati has always encouraged me.”

Not averse to films, she says that she would take up if offers come her way. But there is time for it. “Right now I am all focussed for the pageant shows. The Femina show is the entry point. The winner goes to become the Miss India Universe representative and the first and second runner-ups are sent to the Miss World and Miss Asia Pacific contests. So right now it is only Femina that’s in my mind,” she says.

Apart from getting herself groomed, she is also preparing for the question and answer rounds.
