Shaken, not stirred

Well, it’s difficult to say if it is a tribute to James Bond or to the drink the most charismatic spy of all times popularised. At Eggspectation, the restro-café at Jaypee Vasant Continental, it is time to raise a toast to the most exotic range of martinis popularised by Bond. Named after blockbuster Bond movies, the best cocktails will be churned out at this special offering.

If ‘From Russia With Love’, a tribute to the Sean Connery epic, is a cocktail of vodka and cinzanno rosso, ‘Thunderball’ blends gin, cranberry juice and cointreau.

‘Moonmaker’ brings together gin, cinzanno dry and blue curacao. Cocktails have been dedicated to Bond classics like Octopussy and The Spy Who Loved Me too. ‘The Spy Who Loved Me’ named after the 1977 Roger Moore movie comprises gin, drambuie and angostura while ‘Golden Eye’ dedicated to the Pierce Brosnan hit is a cocktail of gin and Galliano.

Daniel Craig’s first Bond adventure ‘Casino Royale’ has vodka and crème de cacao. It is not merely the Bond movies of the past that are being honoured the martini way. Dedicated to the upcoming Bond flick, ‘Bond 23’ is an interesting mix of vodka, Worcestershire sauce, olive brine and Tabasco.

Besides relishing your heady cocktail, you can also test your knowledge of Bond at Eggspectation. You can take home a complimentary martini cocktail or two vouchers of Paatra, the Pan Indian restaurant, by answering questions on the much loved spy.

These martini moments can be enjoyed from 12 p.m. to 12. 45 a.m. at Eggspectation till July 31.
