SHOWBITZ

Sound and light show

Audio launch events are increasingly becoming bigger and flashier. It all began when actor–director Thygarajan hosted one for his film “Poovukkul Boogambam”. For the audio-launch of “Dasavatharam” Jackie Chan was t he special guest while a dance show with artistes from Mexico was the centrepiece of the “Kandasamy” event. Recently, at the “Aayirthil Oruvan” audio-launch that was held at the University Centenary auditorium, dancers from Nigeria entertained the audience. Seen at the show were Karthi, Andrea, Reema Sen, Parthiban, music director G.V. Prakash, producer Ravendran and filmmakers Shankar, A.R. Murugadoss, Bhagyaraj, Sun Pictures’ Hansraj Saxena, Latha Rajnikanth, Dhanush and his wife Aishwarya. Four songs from the film were performed live. Dhanush, Aishwarya and Andrea sang ‘Un melaidhan aasai dhan’ while Vijay Yesudas sang ‘Thai thin’. When asked Dhanush said he was excited about singing for the film.
