The Saturday ‘blast’

DJ Mike Koglin rocked with his performance at Ahala

Enjoying music DJ Mike Koglin

He is listed among the top 100 DJs in the world this year and Mike Koglin enthralled Hyderabadis for the second time this year. “The night is dedicated to all music lovers and those who believe in electronic music,” says Mike.

He started his career in 1998 with his club anthem The Silence (the track figures among UK’s top 20 hits). He broke the Silence in the city before Christmas and New Year celebrations kicked off at Ahala on Saturday to give a remarkable ending to their third anniversary celebrations. The in-house DJ, Jay, set the mood for the night ahead.

Mike Koglin, a sound engineer from Frankfurt, burst onto the scene in 1998. With time, Mike earned his place as one of the key players in dance music. Since then the Grammy-nominated producer, remixer and DJ has never looked back. He has to his credit a string of productions as well as over 70 remixes in the last seven years.

The DJ has travelled all over the world for performances and says, “I love playing music which people enjoy.” He adds, “There is no particular age group that I like to entertain. Music can be enjoyed by one and all.”

A true lover of Indian cuisine, especially the nawabi cuisine, he also has a word of praise for Hyderabadis: “The crowd here is the best in India, I love playing here.”

He is travelling to Australia for New Year’s eve but before he does that he wishes people of Hyderabad the best in the coming year. “Party hard and make the most out the last day of the year.”
