Toto Funds the Arts (TFA), and Counter Culture Records (CCR), are inviting entries for the fifth annual TOTO awards for young budding musicians and bands. The winner of the award has two options — accept a Rs. 50,000 cash prize to be used towar
ds music or a record deal from CCR and a music equipment voucher from On-Stage Music music equipment store worth Rs. 15,000.
TFA is looking for entries in contemporary music from all parts of India. (bands or individuals). The list of genres extends from rock, jazz, heavy metal, trance, house, instrumental, folk and more. The award is open to music in any language and is open to all Indian nationals in India who are not over 30 as on January 1, 2009. Submissions must be original and the application package should include two CD copies of the music The copies need to be labelled with the name of the artist/band and a contact number, between three and five tracks with their names.
There also has to be a signed statement confirming the applicants, date of birth, names of any previously released singles/CDs and that the submitted work is original. Also, the applicants’ contact information, including landline and cell number, email and postal address have to be mentioned.
