Reddy to roll

Chennai girl Bindu Reddy wanted to see herself on the big screen some day. But the Biotechnology student from the Vellore Institute of Technology was just biding her time till she grew confident of facing the arc lights. So while she was doing her fi nal year, she took up modelling assignments and even walked the ramp for designer Sidney SS. After a host of ads for top textile and jewellery showrooms in the city, she got noticed by the film fraternity. “Now, I’m making my foray into Telugu films with ‘Avakai Biryani.’ Sounds funny? Hold on, it’s not a comedy. It’s a breezy romance. We’ve almost wrapped up the shoot (barring a song) for the film that’s scheduled for release in September. The title reflects the love that blossoms between a girl from an orthodox Hindu background and a boy from a Muslim family. I’ve also signed another film that has Vaibhav, Mohan Babu and Ramya Krishnan in the cast. Having switched streams, I’ll give myself one year to make it,” smiles the confident youngster.
