‘Kuch Meetha Ho Jaye’ focuses on positive news
|
Tired of gory news on television with reporters shouting at the peak of their voices? Sahara Samay is coming with a half-an-hour weekly series ‘Kuch Meetha Ho Jaye.’ “Most channels have forgotten about happy news. Through this seri
es we want to show that even development news could be entertaining,” says the show’s host Vartika Nanda.
Lady farmer
Vartika says there is a story on a female farmer in Muzaffarpur who has become an example for women. “Then there is a story about seven sisters in Jodhpur making a name in the business of spices.” Instead of borrowed footage from entertainment channels, she is collecting footage from the everyday life to entertain people. She insists there is no dearth of positive news around us. “It is just in the name of trend and TRPs, channels are neglecting such news.” Not sure as to how it will fare in the TRP war, she has put a pigeon among the cats, and adds, “Let’s see how the cats react.”
