WINNERS ALL THE WAY The fact that they were novice performers was hardly felt
High decibel music that rocked the evening, a bevy of beauties on and off the dais, stylish youth in trendy attire and to cap it all, spicy snacks and chilling soft drinks to wash it down the throat. Bold `n' Beautiful 2006 proved to be the dream destination for youth in Guntur and surrounding cities.
Culmination of three days of intense competition amongst 35 boys and 30 girls who vied with one another to prove their gifted talent, presence of mind, sense of dressing, intelligence and their camera-friendly persona, it was undoubtedly the right mix of entertainment youth longed for. Organized by Rotary Club of Guntur Aadarsh at Subham Convention Centre the eventful evening saw participation of enthusiastic youngsters from different academic backgrounds.
Myriad shades
The rookie models, in the age group of 18 to 25 years, walked down the ramp clad in Kanchi pattu saris, salvar-kameez, traditional Rajasthani outfit with turban, ghaghra-cholis and traditional Andhra half-saree.
Rigorous practice sessions under the watchful eye of the choreographers reflected in the professional way in which the participants performed.
Proceeds of the show would be used to improve basic amenities in municipal schools in Guntur, said the club president Jahnavy.
The programme convener Janardini and club secretary K. Lakshmi Prasanna expect to garner at least Rs.2 lakhs from the event.
