My kind of place -- Rati Agnihotri

Paris calling

I was 16 when I first visited this amazing capital of France, which combines food, fashion and arts. I have made several trips since. Believe it or not, till date, my annual holiday itinerary is incomplete without a halt in Paris. I am fortunate that my husband and son share my love for Paris. So they don't crib about going there with me so often.

Tourists' favourite

My fondness for the city grew gradually over the years.I have been particularly fascinated by the city's neo-classical architecture that is reflected in its museums, monuments and galleries. No wonder, the city attracts a huge number of tourists from across the globe.

Treasure trove

It's said that to get familiar with a city, one should first read about its history and culture. And visiting museums is like turning the pages of history. I am quite excited to visit the museums and see the breathtaking works of art that they house. Louvre, one of the largest, is known the world over for its display of "Mona Lisa". Then there is Musee that has works of Picasso and Rodin.

Must do

When in Paris, I never miss having hotdogs under the Eiffel Tower. The city is a foodie's paradise, lined with the best of restaurants (which boasts of eclectic menus), bars and cafes. I just freak out without worrying about calories. And of course, how can I ever comeback without shopping for some stylish clothes. Even the sidewalks can't be given a go-by. They are lined with boutiques. If you have a penchant for labels then walk into any of those high-end departmental stores and pick up Armani and Louis Vuitton stuff. Visitors can't resist doing some serious buying here.
