Minissha Lamba on “Well Done Abba”, Shyam Benegal and modelling
Actor Minissha Lamba, along with Claudia Ciesla of Bigg Boss fame, was at The Taj recently, to launch Josh Mobile's new range of mobile phones. In a black dress, Minissha played the perfect brand ambassador, posing with the handsets and walking the ramp.
She said, “Josh mobile phones are true performers…I am a performer too; I also try and deliver performance and satisfaction. We both are performers and in this way I find myself associated with Josh (mobiles).”
In this time of cut-throat competition and globalisation we have to give our best and there is no space for the mediocre, she added. Talking about her films, Minissha said she has worked in movies of different genres and believes in giving her best ranging “from being a shy Kashmiri girl (Ada) in Yahan to the girl next door in Bachna Ae Haseeno (Mahi) to the chubby daughter in Well Done Abba (Muskaan)… I try to live them all.”
Working with Benegal
Saying that she most enjoyed working with Shyam Benegal in Well Done Abba, Minissha elaborated, “He is such a versatile person… an expert in his field. He knows exactly what he expects from his characters and how to extract it.” Speaking about her upcoming projects, she said, “Right now I am working with Sagar Ballary in Hum Tum aur Shabana. It is a rib-tickling comedy. I am very positive about the movie. Let's see what response it gets from the audience.”
Before being a film star, Minissha has been a model too, and at one time wanted to be a journalist! Asked about her modelling career, she said modelling is very demanding as it requires a lot of hard work and there are no cuts or retakes.
