Director Anurag Kashyap is excited about the response his film “That Girl in Yellow Boots” received at the Toronto and Venice International Film Festivals. In fact, the director is on cloud nine after receiving a standing ovation at the Venice festival.

To add to his joy, Anurag got to celebrate his 38th birthday with his icon, director Quentin Tarantino. A beaming Anurag says: “As soon as I cut the cake, Tarantino said ‘Action'; it was a marvellous moment. Guillermo Arriaga, the writer of ‘Babel', was present too.”

The film is a thriller of a bi-racial woman — Ruth, (played by Kalki Koechlin), searching Mumbai for her missing father, a man she hardly knew but cannot forget.

The film also stars Naseeruddin Shah, Shiv Subrahmanyam, and marks the debut of Prashant Prakash and Gulshan Devaiah, both from the world of theatre. The music has been composed by Naren Chandavarkar and Benedict Taylor.
