Claudia Ciesla, the German model who made her Bollywood debut with Salman Khan-starrer Marigold, later appeared in Bigg Boss 3. Other films she has acted in include Karma, and 10:10, a Bengali film. The model-turned-actor who maintains a well-toned physique is very strict about her exercise regimen. “It has been in my routine since years. I have given a lot to myself as I have always been exercising,” she says.

Her workout is a mix of weight-training and cardio. “Apart from this, I also do breathing exercises — it relaxes your body and controls your mind,” adds Claudia.

Her exercise regimen encompasses swimming and horse-riding. While she has also trained in martial arts (“Whenever I visit the Mahalaxmi Race course, I do horse-riding for an hour or two.”) her favourite remains dance. “I love to dance and can dance two to three hours daily,” says Claudia.

Jogging and swimming also find place in her workouts, with the gym being indispensable. “I feel restless if I skip the gym,” exclaims Claudia. While gym visits take up six days of the week, she keeps Sundays for herself. “Once a week you should give a break to your muscles and to yourself,” she explains.

Adjusting to the Indian environment has never been a problem, she affirms, and she believes Indians are more disciplined than Europeans. “Whenever I visit the gym or go for a walk, I find people of different age groups exercising. India is much more motivated to exercise,” she tells you.

The diet, of course, has to be well-balanced. “I cannot eat oily food. I have the proper dal-sabzi diet and prefer home-cooked food.”

Even taking out one hour for oneself, devoting it to exercise and being a little diet-conscious, she says, can keep one fit and fine. “If one doesn’t like going to the gym, practice yoga, explore yourself.”

Claudia is now looking forward to the Punjabi film Yaar Pardesi, where she plays a Canadian. The film is scheduled to release later this month.
