Laurédanne Roman who is here to share her make-up and skin care secrets

Self-grooming is no longer a fancy pursuit for the vain. A beautician seems to be a necessity for urban life. We met with Laurédanne Roman on a muggy Friday evening at the Naturals beauty salon in T. Nagar. She is a beauty trainer with Matis Paris, a French cosmetics brand. Laurédanne is here to train beauticians at the Naturals chain of salons.

Asked about how the collaboration came about, Lauredanne in her adorable squeaky French accent said that Matis has tied-up with the Glosel to introduce the brand in India. “We will be launching Matis products at Naturals Lounge — the new high-end line of salons.”

Through her training sessions she aims to help make-up experts at Naturals be aware of new face care techniques. “It is very important for beauticians to be able to give the right advice to their clients. I know many women who just apply a moisturiser as part of their beauty routine. The treatment doesn't end at the salon; women should continue taking care of their skin at home. The aim is to improve the quality of service and the quality of advice we give out.”

Talking about the effectiveness of this French cosmetic range on the Indian skin, Lauredanne explained that the products that are available across Spain, South Africa and Europe are tested thoroughly at every stage before it reaches the market. “We are confident about their effectiveness.”

And how would she define a beautiful woman?

“I adore a woman with a clear complexion; she doesn't need to wear much make-up. She should radiate happiness and confidence.”
