Entries invited from students for a painting competition on hands
A national-level painting competition has been announced on the theme ‘Magic of hands’ in connection with the 12th Triennial Congress of International Federation of Societies for Surgery of Hand (IFSSH) and the ninth Triennial Congress of the International Federation of Societies for Hand Therapy (IFSHT) to be held in New Delhi in March.
The competition is open for students of classes six to nine. The entries can be about the magic of hands, say a mother’s hand gently patting the child or the mudras of a dancer. Twenty students can participate from one school. The students also need to give a title to their painting by writing a few lines about what made them draw it. The last date for submission of entries is February 12.
Top 50 paintings will be selected by a panel of eminent judges. The shortlisted students will then attend an authentication camp where they will reproduce their paintings. The winning school gets Rs. 5 lakh as prize money. The best talent gets Rs. 20,000 as the prize and 49 others would get Rs. 10,000 each.
These 50 paintings will be published in a book, titled Magic Of Hands, along with the title and names of the artists and their schools. This book is to be released at the Congress.
