Anisha and Gurpreet Singh talk about their initiative LetterNote
Designer mugs, posters and interesting wall art can work wonders to your living space. A well designed product is one that transcends its physical appearance. It has a feel good factor too. LetterNote, a new entrant to the realm of creative product designs, believes in simple, functional and minimalist designs. It provides a range of scribbling pads, mugs, posters, and notebooks. Anisha Singh, Founder and CEO of the brand, says “Our brand is intrinsically design-driven. Centred on the theme of work and play, we offer people something that is classy, suave and unique. We believe that consumers today are more exposed and aware of things. They can very well distinguish between good and bad design. We are here to give people a good alternative.”
Going beyond the realm of appearance, what more can the brand offer people? “Our work is greatly inspired by Swiss style of minimalism. Our products would not have ten things going around at the same time. The objective is not to clutter the minds of people. Right from the kind of paper to the sturdy build of our notebooks, we are being meticulous about the design as well as the production quality of our products,” says Gurpreet Singh, Founder, Idea Zinc Pvt. Ltd., the parent organisation of LetterNote.
LetterNote products are highly influenced by visual culture, art history, and photography. For instance, one of their notebook covers has a beautiful silhouette of African and Indian women. “My background is history and arts. I have worked as a researcher at the National Museum and Delhi Art Gallery. So you will get to see a lot of its influence on my work,” Anisha chips in.
Looking at the concept of creative design from the perspective of consumers, what kind of a clientele is she targeting? “Anybody who likes to carry a well designed notebook or planner, be it a college, school or office goer, is our target person. It is as simple as that. In a way LetterNote is for every one”, answers the founder.
