Pandit Nehru was born to Motilal Nehru and Swaroop Rani in Allahabad. He will always be remembered for his role in India’s struggle for freedom. He made history by becoming the first Prime Minister of Independent India. He was very fond of children and was called Chacha Nehru. He also liked roses and often compared the two saying, children were like the buds in a garden.

Limited edition

You are the one who is enveloped with love and care, and you need not concern yourself with worldly matters. You become the cause for someone’s smile. You are the one who always carries and are a delight. You savour the taste of being able to play endlessly. Childhood is like a ‘Limited Edition Watch’.

Happiness

Childhood is the best part of a persons’ life. Being a child, you can be happy and also make others happy. Everybody becomes happy when they hear a child laugh. You get the best of everything as a child. A child gets to enjoy his life playing, observing and participating with everyone.

Something special

A child is always free. A child is a one who enjoys a lot more than a adult. They do not have any barriers. A child is not discriminated in any society. They are given a special recognition everywhere. A child is free from all tensions and sadness or any other such things.

Memories ...

Everyone says childhood is a part of our life. But as time passes by, and every new chapter begins, we begin to realise that as the days go by we have memories of good times. Running about freely with nothing to bother about, experiencing new things, being a remarkable child who is always petted and pampered are some of the memories which will never fade from our minds. Childhood is like an impression left on a rock; it can never be washed away.

Three — best and worst

You ‘know’ that you’re the favourite. This is definitely the best perk of an only child . You don’t have to share resources. Mine, mine, and oh yeah, that’s mine too. You get to go to everything. Only children get invited to everything. You have no one to blame. If something in the house breaks, if part of the dessert disappears, or if something illegal turns up, it’s you! You get judged by all of the non-only children. Especially if you are an only child. When you are an only child you have no one to chip in with, when it’s time to get mom and dad iPads for their birthdays or anniversaries.

Best of seven

Childhood is the loveliest part of life among the seven ages of life, says Shakespeare. Being a child, I have no tension. Childhood, the period of enjoyment was simply awesome. Being the only child, my parents loved and cared for me. If I was in need of anything, I used to demand for it. I never cared or worried about from where and how it would come.

During my childhood days, I used to steal mulberries from other peoples gardens in the company of my friends, and play in rain in the muddy playgrounds with no worry of how to get the clothes clean and dry. In winter, I like the fog and pearl-like dew drops. I enjoy mainly the festival of Holi.

Endless play

The best part of being a child is that I can play for as long as I want. I also enjoy getting the attention of my parents and other family members. At times I feel I should remain a child to enjoy all these privileges. My mother always says, ‘Childhood is the best part of ones life’ so, I want to enjoy each and every moment to make it memorable.

Very safe

We are safe in the hands of our parents and teachers. I dream of the fun I would have in college, the enjoyment of campus life and more. But when we become 18 and are considered adults, we move away from our parents and teachers to begin a new life. All the barriers around us start to fade away and we are left alone. Nobody to remind us to study or eat or anything. But how long will we enjoy that? I will dearly miss the sweet pestering of my mom and dad and the watchful eyes of my teachers. I will also miss the protection and safety that surrounds me now.

My favourite things

The best part of being a child is the tension free life I enjoy. There is no burden of studies or anything else. The care I get from my parents and everyone else makes me feel secure and happy. I enjoy spending time with my grandparents who tell me stories and teach me moral values. I spend time with my friends, learning rhymes, playing in the park, playing with the pets and troubling teachers and parents.

Never alone

We are never alone. There is always someone to support us. The people who give maximum support to children are family and friends. When we have support he or she feels very happy to be part of a group. We need not worry because our responsibilities are shared. We are also loved and cared more because we are young. It is good being a child because we can learn a lot of things about life. This gives us an opportunity to do different things and get inspired. In my opinion, children can change the world in the future and they are never alone in doing what they want to do.

Blue skies ahead

Oh! What fun it is to be a child. God has given children imagination as wide as the sky. When the blue sky is stressed out, it rejuvenates itself through rain. What fun it is to be a child…to be able to splash in the puddles, to run on to the terrace to get soaked and then when hunger strikes nag mother for food. There is so much joy in seeing a rainbow after the rain. Rainbows for me are one of the wonders of the world. And how Iwould run out to look at the aeroplane as it flies past. The giant bird with wings of my dreams.. My dream, my ambitions, which seem to change everyday. It is so much of fun to fill countless colouring books and immerse yourself in the world of vibrant hues. The story time sessions always take me on a new journey, where the sky has a gate and it opens into both heaven and hell. The warm cuddle of my mother tells me that nothing will go wrong if she is with me. I will not let my childhood be lost in iPads or xBox. I will unleash my joy to the open sky.

Free expression

I can say what I want freely without fear or favour. For example, if your neighbour has given you some sweets. After the family has eaten it, your neighbour asks you how the sweets tasted. Even if the sweets tasted terrible, adults would say, “oh it tasted great. Awesome!” Whereas a five-year old would blurt out, “Yuck! It is horrible. I didn't like it even a bit”. Children express their ideas, thoughts and opinions freely. Also being a child means getting pampered, living in fantasy worlds and playing to your heart's content without a worry in the world. When I was younger I believed in the tooth fairy and Santa Claus and was waiting to receive gifts from them. And just the mention of Wee Willie Winkie would make me go to sleep whenever my mom found I was uncontrollable and hyperactive even at 11pm!

Laugh and play

Actually the best part of life in being a child is there are no tensions or worries that our parents or we ourselves cannot solve. There are many people to care for us. A child enjoys every moment of the day. A child is able to laugh freely. Nothing scares him.

Sweet and spicy

This is the only time when we spend our life without any tension, worry or pressure. We think that elders lead a much happier life than us, as they are always allowed to party with friends, go for dinners, outings, shopping and so on but actually childhood is the most precious and beautiful period. Meeting friends at school, having to do irritating tests and boring home work, listening to mom's scoldings, and getting pampered by dad are all a part and parcel of childhood. It is at times sweet, at times salty, sour and even bitter. And the best part about being a child is the protection our parents provide and the endless, unconditional love.

Beyond all limits

A child can explore his own world without coming under the limits of laid down by society. What I like is that we can be friends with anyone we want. There is no caste discrimination.

Tension-free life

It is very good being a child. Though the tiring homework, exams,, discipline makes us sick and hate education, it is a tension-free life. We do not believe in racial discrimination, have no problems with caste and have no ego. We have no need to take extra effort at home because our parents take care of us. They give us food, shelter and whatever we require at the right time. I do not have to get tensed wondering how to earn a living, or how to take care of my family. All I have to be is to be a loving child to my parents.

Totally carefree

We can enjoy and play a lot because once we become adults; we will have a lot of problems. As children we learn many new things and decide our future. We can learn from our mistakes and there are a lot of opportunities for us at this stage.

Like a bird

We are not a part of the “Competitive World” that the adults are. We are habitually unafraid of the challenges of society and the future like, marks in the final examinations. A child is like an independent bird flying in the endless sky and covering as much distances as it feels like. There are no restrictions and no strict schedules to follow.

A worthy experience

The experience of being a child is incredibly unique. What fun is it to play pranks on our friends, splash water on each other in the pool, build sand castles in the sandpit or on the beach and play in the rain. All these are unmatchable experiences for a child. Though children are naughty, yet everybody likes kids as they are cute and are always eager to ready for some adventure or the other. And the best part is that you’re treated specially. If you are an adult, then you have to conduct yourself in the best manner possible. But, being a kid is so much fun, especially when you have a day just for us (I mean Children’s day, of course!) The schools especially celebrate it with a great zest and enthusiasm.

So cool

We have no responsibilities other than studying. We need not worry about the monthly expenditures and our lives are free of tension. The second best part of childhood is innocence. Children are unaware about the evils in the society. Their thoughts are clean and they never want to harm others.
