Three plays, three different languages, three different styles and one motive, “Edutainment.”

Recently three plays namely “Pipeelikam”, “Homework” and “Bobby” were staged at Ravindra Bharathi.

All round development

These were in Telugu, Hindi and English respectively, and done by Nishumbita, a theatre group which focuses on the all round development of children.

“Pipeelikam”, written by Ravisastri, was a play about a small ant that wants to know the truth of life and goes in search of it.

During his journey he comes across many intellectuals, teachers and preachers but is not convinced by their answers. The director of the play was Rammohan Holagundi and it was scripted by R.C. Choudhary.

“Homework”, scripted by Suresh Chandragupta was a play in Hindi set in a GRIPS format where adults performed as children.

It was about a few school kids and their woes at home.

Vijay Tendulkar's “Bobby” was a play in English.

The main character of the play is Bobby, a girl who wants to live her dreams but is pressurised by her career oriented parents. Does she achieve her dreams is the story.
