Students and the staff of CSKM Public School, Satbari, Chattarpur, New Delhi, celebrated Republic Day. After flag hoisting and the NCC Parade, performances of Kathak , yoga and Vedic maths were presented under the aegis of Peagle All Rounders. There was also a fete which included food stalls of different states, swing rides, books and gift items. The centre of attraction was the music station put up by the senior students. Principal Dr. S.S. Jaiman and Vice-principals, R.K. Tyagi and S.K. Thakur, were also present along with the parents. Mrs. Jaiman asked the students to understand, introspect and obey the norms, thus preserving the values of our nation.

Karandeep Singh, and Kunwardeep Singh, XII B, The Indian School, participated in the 48th Sub Junior, Junior and Senior National Skating Championship held at Vishakhapatnam recently. Karandeep won gold medal in 1000m, silver in 5000m (Road) and finished fourth in half-Marathon, 21km. (Road). Kunwardeep took part in the seniors category and secured fifth position in above 16years boys category. They also participated in the 56th National School Games by School Games Federation of India (SGFI) held at Rajiv Gandhi Stadium, Bawana, Delhi. Karandeep won gold in 5000m (Road) and 1000 m, and silver in 300m, in the under-19 boys category. The team won bronze medal in under-19 boys category. Karandeep had represented India in the 2010 World Speed Skating Championship held in October at Gaurne (Medellin) Colombia. Kunwardeep represented India in the 14th Asian Roller Skating Championship held at Kaohsiung Chinese Taipei, where he was part of the Indian Roller Hockey team (Men) which won bronze medal.

V.V.S Laxman who has been awarded the Padmashri recently, was the chief guest at Sumermal Jain School, Janakpuri, New Delhi. The chairman of the school K. L. Jain welcomed him, which was followed by a colourful performance by the students. Laxman encouraged children to adopt good habits and make their way to a bright future, making their parents and the country proud. “Whatever contribution I have made to the country in the 10-15 years has been rewarded. It's a very good feeling that I have been bestowed the Padmashri,” Lakshman said. “India has all the chances to win the World Cup. The team can touch the glory of 1983. They have the potential and talent to lift the trophy,” he added. Chairman of the school K.L. Jain, applauded Lakshman's contributions to the country and appealed to the students to prove themselves special like V.V.S. Laxman and make their parents and the country proud.
