Work quality is always a product of an employee’s aptitude and various factors ranging from the people that surround him/her, the private space, the right interiors, good food and more. Think about the joy you get by stretching your legs sitting in the sofa as you unveil a laptop, watch a stream of vehicles pass by through the glass, sipping a cup of warm cappuccino, lost in a world of thoughts and sinking your teeth into your profession. Workaholic, a work cafe setup at Road No.36, Banjara Hills recently, caters to smaller pleasures like these and also doesn’t miss out on the complete picture. ‘Come, eat, work, repeat’, Workaholic’s tagline says and you would like to believe it after entering their space.
Conceived as an area that would bridge a store, a workspace and a cafe under one roof, Workaholic was born as a solution to the problems that its founders Dr Siddharth (an endocrinologist by profession), interior designer Aanchal Goel and their counterparts faced at popular cafes. Though freelancers and part-time job holders working out of cafes is an emerging trend, the need to order to keep their space through the day turns them away. Flexibility is the key-word the founders liked to address when they came up with this idea — a major advantage is their option of ordering outside food as you sit in the cafe. Select membership packages entail members unlimited beverages on an hourly, daily and a monthly basis.
- What: Store, cafe and workspace
- Where: Fortune Monarch, Jubilee Hills
- Area: 2000 square feet, 50 seater
The roll-ups between tables provide privacy, the choice to sit by the stool leaning on the wall, rest on the sofa and use the projector in the meeting room fits right for a space that's labelled a 'work cafe'. Their unique lighting and arrangement of the bulbs are a delight in the evenings. Furniture being the co-founder Aanchal's strength helped Workaholic. The hues through the cafe are easy on the eyes, the experiments come through the personalised decor.
“When you setup a furniture store right away, you aren't going to have a great customer turnout overnight. The articles available here are more customised than a regular store. A member can come and work comfortably without any pressure of paying multiple bills,” says Siddharth. The food-choices are limited but enough to keep your taste buds occupied. Simple needs like multiple seating options, abundant charging points, adequate Wifi speeds, the provision of stationery, a printer facility are taken care of too. That Workaholic caters to sensibilities of various crowds from the IT sector to those creatively inclined, besides individually working out as a cafe, store and a workspace, gives it an exclusivity.
The scope to improvise does exist but the space does a lot within a compact area that you'd have little to complain about. Keep calm, work and chill is what Workaholic says!
