There is a lot to like about 1131, or Elvnthrtyone, depending on who you ask. The location is excellent, smack in the middle of Bengaluru's Indiranagar's 100 Feet Road, giving it easy visibility and accessibility. There's a fair amount of room too, and the ambience is very upmarket. To add some entertainment value, one of the many levels at this establishment is home to a golf simulator.

The menu features cuisines from across the world, and we began with some buffalo wings prepared Jamaican jerk style, where the spices from the region make their presence felt. For anyone with a higher spice tolerance, the wings are also available in a spiced Szechuan avatar. To balance things out, we also wolfed down some celebrity shrooms, which brought a warm crispy exterior and a soft interior with hints of peanut butter and cilantro, restoring balance to our palate. Vegetarians have the option of trying a Mediterranean mezze platter or going desi with some Lucknavi street chaat.
On the liquid side of things, the Curry Patta, a vodka-based concoction that blends kahlua, espresso, orange and curry leaves is one of the signature drinks on the menu, and one worth trying. For something a little sweeter, the Rose Mary throws in some chocolate sauce, rose syrup and strawberry crush into the mix for good measure. Other options include the whisky-based Smoking Joe, not to mention evergreen classics like the Cosmopolitan and the Moscow Mule. Beer lovers should also check out the on tap craft beers.
Coming back to the food, the appetiser menu on its own is a few pages long, with Asian and Indian selections as well as dim sums and baos getting their own sections. The dim sum selection is an easy recommendation to experience a taste profile that is not commonly found on a typical night out.
The pizzas on offer also bring in tastes from around the world, and while a spicy lamb Chettinad beckoned invitingly, we explored the vegetarian section and tried the excellent caramelised onion and mushroom corn pizza; cheesy with a hint of sweet crunch mixed in it. There are also pastas, sizzlers and a proper main course containing international celebrities like Moroccan slow cooked lamb, and Indian classics like the paneer makhani and Goan prawn curry. The selection is diverse, and depending on the kind of diner you are, this can be seen as being spoiled for choice or being unfocused and FOMO-inducing.
With bellies happily full, we took a look at the dessert menu, which is mostly a standard affair (barring banana marshmallow pizza) and decided to go with a signature chocolate lava cake, accompanied with some maple honey ice cream, which, while somewhat ubiquitous across menus these days, does enough justice to warrant mention.
All things considered, 1131 is one of the places well suited for entertaining large groups. It is well-located, and has a menu diverse enough that multiple visits can be made without running out of options. That's a win-win situation right there.
