We’re all familiar with Saree Man’s Instagram account teeming with inspired ways to wear saris differently. His out-of-the-box style was first met with skepticism then with total excitement at the notion of unbound ways to recreate fashion. The hook here is that everyday women, not models, are hopping on the trend of making the most out of the sari in their wardrobes.

Instagram user Rashmi S Nair draped a black sari over a black off-the-shoulder peasant blouse paired with cream capris and juttis; the resulting look was relaxed yet very high-fashion.

Nikaytaa shared how she rolled her pallu around her neck and rearranged the fall into a dhoti-style; the ensemble, with a linen shirt, was very travel-friendly.

Shreya Das sported a black crop top with a fringe along with oversized shades and a vibrant orange and red sari, captioning the image, “Who says saree is only for the coy shy look? It was time for a bike ride outside the city. I decided to notch up the temperature few degrees in my orange sari. We decided to go rougish and tied the aachal as a knot around the neck. This Indo-Western fusion was the perfect blend for a cocktail rani look.”

Blogger Travelista In Saree rocked a French Chantilly lace sari while travelling in Salzburg. The edgy look was completed with a leather jacket and sassy sunglasses with hair pulled back tight to accentuate her bone structure for a somewhat severe look still softened by the sari.

The key here is to be uninhibited yet respectful with your creativity and to wear the garment with an unprecedented confidence; shoulders back and head high! So rummage through your almirahs at home and find a way to rock a sari, be it with boots, leather accents or a crop top — and join the movement.
