After `Anniyan', Sada no outsider

"In between the shoots, I could not make out what Vikram was up to. But after seeing the film I have no words to describe his acting talent. He is amazing."
ON A HIGH: Actress Sada
Sada is on cloud nine. After acting in Shanker's "Anniyan," she has become a household name in Tamil Nadu. The actress, who was in Chennai for a few days to shoot for "Priyasakhi," took time off to talk about her past, present and future in the film industry.
"I was staying with my parents in Rathnagiri in Maharashtra. I was one of the bright students in school.
In my Plus-Two, I got 92 per cent. I got admission in the SNDT College to study Information Technology. One day, one of my father's friend asked me to pose for some snaps. Those photos came out well and it was these that helped me get a role in movies.
From my childhood, I have been interested in acting. Director Teja was searching for a heroine for his film "Jayem." After seeing various models and their pictures, he came to Mumbai. To my luck, he happened to see my photos. and an offer followed. I accepted and the film marked my debut. It was a hit and the same film was re-made into Tamil by editor Mohan, which give also a good opening for his son Ravi.
In Tamil, it was a mega hit and film ran for 175 days. After its success I did films with Srikanth ("Varnajalam") and Madhavan ("Ethiri"). I did not have much time to talk to Srikanth as we worked only for about 12-13 days. He is a nice person and was very much involved in his work.
But with Madhavan it was different. I have seen him in a number of television serials. I was excited about doing a film with him. He is a very jovial person. When he is around, there are plenty of jokes on the sets. I am now doing "Priyasakhi" with Madhavan.
When I was cast for "Anniyan" I was very happy. Even today, the unit members tease me for a particular scene in which a chemical tube indicates how hot a person is. It was brought from Malaysia and was used in the film. When I was holding it, the level in the tube rose very slowly. Vikram and others used to say that I was cold. But I told them that I am hot in the eyes of the fans.
I saw the film before its release at a special show. In between the shoots, I could not make out what Vikram was up to. But after seeing the film I have no words to describe his acting talent. He is amazing. From the very first day he used to call me `Thangachi' and I used to call him `Broji' meaning brother. It was very comfortable to work with him.
I have only accepted one film in Tamil after "Anniyan," apart from "Priyasakhi." But in Telugu I am doing a film with Siddarath directed by Siva and the remake of Tamil "Ghilli" in Kannada with Puneeth Rajkumar.
According to Sada, the highlight of the film is the climax with Prakash Raj. Both the actors have done a wonderful job in the film. Shanker's direction is another high point of the film.
