I am doing M.Sc in Marine Biology and is interested in pursuing a career in this field. Please provide information about the job opportunities for specialisation in Biological Oceanography. Am I eligible for GATE and NET exam?

The subject marine biology includes the study of marine organisms, their behaviours, and their interactions with the environment. The subject is considered one of the most all-encompassing fields of oceanography. Your specialisation Biological Oceanography focuses on marine organisms and how marine microbes, plants, and animals interact with each other and with the physical, chemical, and geological processes in the ocean. Many job opportunities for Marine Biologist exist with scientific research institutions (universities) and various government agencies. Private companies who are engaged in searching for economic sea floor deposits, investigating areas for sea farming, and evaluating natural energy production from waves, currents, and tides also hire candidates qualified in marine sciences. Your work profile will include developing ecologically sound methods of harvesting seafood and studying biological responses to pollution. Because marine biology is the most well known oceanographic field (and because the larger marine animals have such wide appeal), it is currently the most competitive sector of oceanography. You are eligible for GATE and NET.

The entry-level jobs offered by companies are many. But in which sector lies your interest and core competency is an issue of concern. In case you want to enter the Financial Services sector the following is what you can look at:

I am an engineering student and wish to take up part time ramp modelling. I want to know the right attribute to become a successful model. Kindly list the institutes offering training in modelling.

Ramp modelling requires the typical statistics of height, weight and deportment. You need to be at least 5'10" tall, with clear complexion, straight carriage, well-proportioned physique with even teeth and good hair. Girls should ideally walk tall, with a height of at least 5'6". Well proportioned body, good hair and skin, expressive eyes and even teeth. Your attitude, level of self-confidence, determination and stamina are also important in determining how far you can go in the profession.
Training in modelling is offered by modelling schools, they can only hone what is already inherent, not create what is not. Modelling schools, mostly run by ex-models part-time or full-time help train some potential models.
These training programmes usually, impart basic knowledge in various areas of grooming a person.
