Tremendous Opportunities!

In the middle of difficulty lies opportunity." - Albert Einstein -

AT LAST! All those people who wrote to us complaining how it was Un-Fair that Kerala was left out of job fairs time and again, can finally have it their way! Trivananthapuram becomes the chosen city this month as it gets to play host to the most eagerly awaited and event— The Hindu-Opportunities job fair. The Hindu and the Kerala Government (Kerala State IT Mission)are coming together for the first time to organise the Opportunities Fair, to be held on the 25th and 26th of March 2006, at the St. Joseph's Higher Secondary. School Auditorium, General Hospital Junction, Trivananthapuram. It is here that thousands of hopefuls from across the state will have their tryst with their career destiny.

To see that both exhibitors and aspirants get a fair chance to meet and discuss at a little more leisure, the fair has been designed in a format that will allow recruiters to choose in advance whom they want to meet and give them the time they deserve. Ergo, the process has been purpose-designed to facilitate this:

Freshers and those passing out in 2006 and those with less than two years' experience will need to register online at {lt}http://www.tmifirst.com/hf6/index.aspx{gt} and await an online confirmatory message that will include the Hall Entry Ticket; only if they are short listed by the recruiters. This will save thousands of people the trouble and expense of coming all the way to the venue only to discover that none of the jobs suit them.

Experienced Professionals with more than two years of work experience need to click on the relevant option. After filling in the form, they can print out their Hall Entry Ticket the moment they complete the process and do not need to wait for a detailed confirmatory mail.

The form has been designed as simply as possible and all you have to do is first enter your basic data for registration and then sit back, relax and await your user ID and password by e-mail with a link to the registration site. The next step is to complete the registration process by logging onto the registration site. Having done that, complete the final step by taking a printout of the Hall Entry Ticket. Mind you, you can do all the steps if you have more than two years' experience. If you are a fresher or are about to graduate or have less than two years of experience, you need to wait a tad longer for your HET to be generated after scrutiny and acceptance. Those of you with more than two years' experience are advised to bring along supporting documents to establish your experienced status at the venue to the recruiter(s) with whom you have an appointment. And remember everybody; you will not be admitted without a Hall Entry Ticket. This time the experience is going to be different, what with most of the matchmaking taking place before you actually land at the venue. Once you are called (as a fresher or a candidate with less than two years experience) you can be certain that there is someone willing to give you the time and have the patience to talk to you and see if there is a point of mutual interest. Those of you with more than two years of experience are welcome to choose your recruiter and talk to them bringing your experience to bear on the discussions you will have.

The Hindu Opportunities Fair is going to be a unique experience if you are qualified and are in the market for a job, and for those who hold an HET, admission to the venue will be free. So hurry, get online and register. You don't get an Opportunity twice!
