United Bank identifies specialised MSME branches

June 26, 2010 07:29 pm | Updated 07:29 pm IST - KOLKATA:

Altogether 41 branches of United Bank of India have been identified as specialised MSME branches and one officer from each region of the bank has been designated as Nodal Officer to aggressively market the MSME loans.

This is part of the bank's bid to uplift the MSME sector. The decision was taken after a workshop organised by the bank on MSME advances for branch heads of specialised MSME branches and nodal officers from the 28 Regional Offices of the bank. The workshop was inaugurated by Bhaskar Sen, Chairman and Managing Director, in the presence of S. L. Bansal, Executive Director.

A bank release said that it had taken various other steps for increasing its priority sector lending, including recruitment of Credit Officers (MSME), and Agriculture Officers.
