Top seed Rafael Nadal thrilled a Latin home crowd as he crushed Denis Istomin 6-1, 6-0 to steamroll into the fourth round of the Miami Masters on Monday.

The Australian Open finalist finished off his demolition in 59 minutes with six breaks of serve to maintain a perfect 4-0 slate in the series with the Uzbek coached by his mother.

Melbourne champion Stanislas Wawrinka, seeded third, defeated Frenchman Eduardo Roger-Vasselin 7-5, 6-4 as the Swiss lifts his level and builds up the confidence of a grand slam winner.

“I’m just doing my job,” said Wawrinka. “My job is to play tennis, try to play the best possible, and to do that I have to practise well. That’s what I’m doing: stay focused on my tennis, it’s quite simple.”

Czech seventh seed Tomas Berdych beat Joao Sousa of Portugal 6-2, 6-4 while Canadian 12th seed Milos Raonic took victory in less than an hour over Spain’s Guillermo Garcia-Lopez 6-1, 6-2 to next face lucky loser Benjamin Becker, a winner over Aljaz Bedene 6-3, 7-5.

Alexandr Dolgopolov defeated lucky loser Dusan Lajovic 3-6, 6-0, 7-6(5) while German Benjamin Becker beat Aljaz Bedene of Slovenia 6-3, 7-5.

The five leading women’s seeds all won, led by Serena Williams, who beat Coco Vandeweghe 6-3, 6-1. Williams was finally satisfied after some patchy performances.

Second seed Li Na defeated Carla Suarez Navarro 6-0, 6-2 in what the Chinese considered a bit of a surprise.

Number 3 Agnieszka Radwanska fought through a battle with Elina Svitolina, smashing a racquet after losing the second set, but achieving a 7-6(5), 5-7, 6-2 win.

Maria Sharapova struggled for the second straight match but ended with a 3-6, 6-4, 6-1 victory on Monday over Belgian Kirsten Flipkens to escape into the quarter-finals.

German fifth seed Angelique Kerber put out Ekaterina Makarova 6-4, 1-6, 6-3. Eighth seed Petra Kvitova humbled Ana Ivanovic, the number 12 from Serbia, 3-6, 6-0, 6-0.
