The British Council launched its LearnEnglish Kids programme at Maharishi Vidya Mandir School, Chennai recently. Partnering with The Curriculum Company (TCC), the tablet-based programme caters to students from Classes I to X.
During the launch, S. Namasivayam, Senior Principal, Maharishi Vidya Mandir School and Chairperson of the Chennai Sahodaya Schools Complex highlighted the importance of using technology as a teaching tool.
Janaka Pushpanathan, co-founder and CEO, The Curriculum Company explained the working of the T-Learning technology. “English teachers can integrate the content and daily classroom activities. We provide teacher training and support, including monitoring and evaluation, so there is systemic improvement in English language levels of children in all aspects of listening, speaking, reading and writing,” said Ms. Janaka Pushpanathan.
TCC’s T-learning platform allows teachers to interact, share, collaborate, run polls, collect data and assess. The platform also allows for one-on-one teacher-learner interactions by allowing a teacher to send messages to individual students during the course of a session. It also gives teachers the flexibility to use content in any format such as video, presentation, word document or audio file.
