Awareness raised by Alpha students

Nilgiris: On June 5, students of Alpha G.K. Matriculation School, Aravenu conducted a rally to create an awareness of keeping the environment clean. Nearly 100 students participated to create awareness among the public.

The rally started from the school and went on till Aravenu. In Aravenu bazaar students performed a mono act with the theme, ‘Raise your voice not the Sea level’.

The rally was organised with a group of students carrying placards with slogans like ‘A Tree for Peace’, ‘Avoid plastic’ etc. The students also distributed ‘Save Earth’ stickers for people to stick on their vehicles.

A warm welcome at Lisieux School

 Coimbatore: The orientation for the new students and inauguration of the academic year was held in Lisieux Higher Secondary School, Saibaba Colony.

Rev Fr Phillips Pontheckan, Principal inaugurated the occasion by lighting the traditional lamp. In his speech, he said that the outgoing students of classes 10 and 12 brought good name to the institution by securing excellent marks in the board examinations. He congratulated the students and the staff who supported them.

Rev Fr Joy Kolengaden , correspondent addressed the gathering. In his speech, he was proud to say that the boys excelled in the SSLC board examinations. A total of 38 students got a centum in Science, 35 students in Maths, 5 students in Social Science, and 2 students in English.

Toppers in examinations for classes 10 and 12 were honoured during the function.

Rainwater rally at SV Nagar Vidyalaya

 Coimbatore: The students and staff of S V Nagar Vidyalaya conducted a rally in and around the school to emphasize the importance of Rainwater Harvesting. The students carried placards to spread awareness among the public.

Fresh start at Vedanta

Coimbatore: The Investiture Ceremony of Vedanta Academy School, Bodipalayam took place on its campus recently. Dr. T. Ramachandran, Principal, Karpagam Institute of Technology, Coimbatore was the Chief Guest on this occasion. He honoured the students by issuing the badges & they took oath for the academic year 2014-15. The Principal Dr.K.S.Sivaprakash, gave a welcome speech which was followed by the speech of the Chief Guest.

The special guest S.Natarajan, Secretary, was also present. The ceremony came to an end with the National Anthem.
