Currency in focus at Natesan Vidyasala

Chennai: Shri Natesan Vidyasala School, Mannivakkam, recently organised a Currency Expo, to make students understand how currencies work.

They put up a display of currency notes and coins from 87 countries, and explained their significance to guests. Vetrivelan, an advocate and numismatist, inaugurated the exhibition and spoke about his experiences. Dr N Ramasubramanyan, founder of the school also addressed the gathering.

 Presidency students win science competition

Puducherry: Puthiya Thalai murai conducted “Veetuku oru Vignani” State level science competition at Amalorpavam school.

The students of Presidency Higher Secondary School won the second prize in Junior category.

 Sports Day held at B.S. Mootha School

Chennai: The annual sports day of Shri B.S.Mootha Girls Sr Sec School was held recently. The chief guest was former cricketer Sharath. The event opened with the flag hoisting, march past, oath taking, lighting the torch. The sports meet included an array of events like mass drill, yoga, karate, aerobics, and track events such as 100mts, 200mts, 400mts,4x100mts relay for both juniors and seniors. Gyananjali emerged as the winner in the overall tally and in the march past.

Yuvabharathi students put up sports show

Coimbatore: The 7th annual sport day of Yuvabharathi Public School was held at Yuva Enclave recently. The chief guest was Neville J. Billimoria, a sportsperson, and he was honoured with a memento by the correspondent Anand.

A synchronized marching display was put up by the students from Pine, cedar, Oak and Maple houses. The lightening of torch by the torch bearers marked the start of the sports events, followed by oath taking by the office bearers.

The students took part enthusiastically in various fun games and display events – Taekwondo, Gymnastics, Pyramid drill & Drill.
