Road rules stressed at Chellamal Vidyalaya

Tiruchi: World Safety Day was observed in Chellammal Vidyalaya CBSE, Tiruverumbur recently. A rally was conducted and the children carrying placards and banners participated in it. Usha Kumaraswamy, Principal, led the rally which was organised by the Science and Social Department of the school. The Principal and K. Simirina of class VII spoke on the importance of strictly adhering to road rules.

K'sirs hosts football tournament

Coimbatore: K'sirs organised the 3rd K'sirs Falcon's Trophy Inter School Football Tournament this month on the school campus. Around 15 schools from across the city participated enthusiastically. The final match between the teams from Carmel Garden School and Karunya Residential School was watched by many, and Carmel Garden snagged the trophy. Saju of Carmel Garden was adjudged the best player of the series.

Chennai: A student from Madras Christian College Higher Secondary School has been selected for admission into the Ritusmeikan Asia Pacific University, Japan with a 100 per cent scholarship. Mukesh will join a 4-year course, after which he will be offered a job there. He is the only student from south India to be offered this, after a series of tests and interviews.

Tiruchi: The 51st investiture ceremony of RSK Junior School was held recently. C.J. Chacko, Principal, who presided over the function, reminded the student leaders of their responsibilities and advocated dedication towards their duties. A. Arokia Mary, co-ordinator of the school, stressed on developing attributes of teamwork and selflessness.

Santa Maria students sworn in

Tiruchi: Santa Maria Matriculation School held its investiture ceremony recently. Rithika and Aniritha took charge as the school captain and vice-captain respectively. The captains of various houses and the secretaries of Tamil and English literature clubs also took charge. Nirmal Nathan and Rosalind Nathan, directors of the school, presented the flags and badges in the presence of Arogyaraj, principal.

Velammal students look ahead at future prospects

Thiruvallur: Velammal Matric. Hr. Sec. School, Ponneri conducted a career guidance and counselling programme for outgoing students and parents of the present academic year. The chief guest was Jayaprakash Gandhi, a career counsellor and educational advisor.

The principal of the school, G.R.Shanthi gave the welcome speech. In his address, J.P.Gandhi advised the students to grab the opportunities available, and to choose careers based on future prospects

Learning enhanced at Vidya Nethrra

Pollachi: Vidya Nethrra Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Gomangalampudhur, implemented an initiative named My EduWorld Dongle for first time in Tamil Nadu, for all the students from classes 6 to 10.

It was inaugurated by the chief guest A. Gnana Gowri, Chief Educational Officer, Coimbatore, and guest of honour C.A Shanmuga Vadivoo, District Educational Officer, Pollachi.

Each student was given a pen drive to enable self learning through a multimedia classroom at home, and help them clear their doubts. Chairman Dr. K. Balasundaram, Secretary G. Nantha Gopala Krishnan, Joint-Secretary B. S. Charles Babu, Principal .M.Gopalakrishnan and Sivaprakasam Krishnasamy Territory Manager, Sales Department-HCL were also present there for the inaugural function.
