    AIADMK to contest in Karnataka local body polls

    Chennai, Sept. 1 (PTI): The opposition AIADMK in Tamil Nadu will contest in four municipalities in the coming local body elections in Karnataka, party chief Jayalalithaa announced on day.

    In a release here, she invited applications from aspirants who wanted to contest in wards falling under Kolar Gold Field, Shimoga, Bhadravathi and Mysore municipalities.

    The aspirants could obtain application forms from party Election Wing Joint Secretary N Balaganga by paying an amount of Rs 500 and hand over the filled in applications to him, the release said.

    The applications would be distributed both at KGF and Bangalore on September 2, it added.
