Two police officers held in connection with Moga sex scandal
New Delhi (PTI): Two senior Punjab Police officials were arrested by the CBI on Tuesday in connection with the Moga sex scandal case, which later turned out to be the honey trap used for extortion of influential people.
CBI sources here said Assistant Inspector General of Police (Security) Davinder Singh Garcha and Superintendent of Police (Headquarters), Ropar, Paramjeet Singh, were picked up for questioning and later placed under arrest by the agency.
Garcha was then the Senior Superintendent of Police, Moga and Singh was the Superintendent of Police (Headquarters), Moga.
The two had been allegedly involved in the scandal which came to light in November last following arrest of two women under the Immoral Trafficking Act.
On investigation, it was revealed that the two in connivance with police officials, politicians, journalists and businessmen were allegedly indulging in extortion by threatening "innocent" people.
