Wheat, bajra down on increased arrivals

New Delhi (PTI): The wholesale prices of wheat and bajra drifted in the national capital today due to increased arrivals from producing belts amid fall in demand.

Other commodities, however, continued to trade in a limited range on selective buying or selling by stockists.

Traders said increased supplies from producing regions and record procurement of wheat by the government agencies mainly led to a fall in wheat and bajra prices.

Wheat dara, mostly used by flour mills, traded Rs 5 lower at Rs 1,045-1,070 per quintal but wheat MP (deshi) traded flat at rs 1,400-1,700 per quintal.

Bajra remained under pressure and lost another Rs 5 to Rs 820-830 per quintal due to higher arrivals from Uttar Pradesh.
