BBC World ties up with Chandigarh-based FM radio
New Delhi (PTI): BBC World Service, international news and current affairs television channel, on Wednesday announced its tie up with a Chandigarh-based community FM radio station.
After it BBC World Service program would be available on Vivek 90.4 FM, first community radio station of the city, said the international media group in a statement.
Vivek 90.4 FM, a community radio station initiated by a local school, Vivek High School would air BBC programs from learning English, world opinion on technological advancements to environment, music, art and culture.
BBC would offer programmes such as Discovery, Cultural 'Shock', 'Top of the Pops', 'One Planet', 'Health Fact Files' to Vivek 90.4 FM, said the company.
The radio station was started in March 2007 and is deeply involved in the field of health, education, literacy and nutrition.
At this Business Development Manager, BBC World Service Vineeta Dwivedi said it would help in providing informative programming to Radio audience in the country.
"It has always been our endeavor to offer intriguing and informative programming to radio audiences in India".
